Description

Flucloxacillin isn’t a general-purpose antibiotic — it’s a targeted one. Where standard penicillin fails against bacteria that have developed a resistance mechanism called beta-lactamase, flucloxacillin is specifically engineered to get around it. That makes it the antibiotic of choice for a specific and very common group of infections: those caused by staphylococcal and streptococcal bacteria, particularly in the skin, soft tissue, ears, and bones.

What Makes It Different from Regular Penicillin

Many bacteria — staphylococci especially — protect themselves by producing beta-lactamase, an enzyme that breaks down standard penicillin before it can do its job. Flucloxacillin is a beta-lactamase-resistant penicillin, meaning that enzyme doesn’t work against it. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins in the bacterial cell wall and disrupts cell wall synthesis, killing the bacteria directly. The result is effective treatment against infections that ordinary penicillin would fail to clear.

The Infections It Treats

Skin infections are where flucloxacillin earns most of its use — cellulitis, impetigo, folliculitis, infected wounds, abscesses, and infections of existing skin conditions like eczema or ulcers. It’s also used for external ear infections, bone and joint infections, and chest infections involving staphylococcal bacteria. In surgical settings it’s used preventatively, particularly before orthopaedic and cardiothoracic procedures where staphylococcal contamination is a risk.

One important note: flucloxacillin doesn’t cover MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). For MRSA-suspected infections, a different antibiotic class is needed.

28 Capsules

A standard course length for most bacterial infections — enough to complete treatment properly rather than stopping early when symptoms ease, which is where antibiotic resistance begins.

No Prescription. Delivered Worldwide.

Ordered directly, dispatched fast in plain unmarked packaging. No prescription required, tracked delivery to customers anywhere in the world.

Complete the full course even if symptoms improve before the capsules run out — stopping early risks the infection returning. Do not take if you have a known penicillin allergy.
